SOMLEVEL-15
SOMLEVEL-15 is the ideal radar sensor for non-contact level measurement in all standard applications requiring high performance. It is particularly suitable for water level measurement in rivers and channels, wastewater treatment channels and pumping stations, lakes and stormwater overflow basins, as well as for industrial level monitoring applications involving the pumping and treatment of liquids.
SOMLEVEL-15 emits a continuous 80 GHz radar signal towards the surface of the measured medium. The signal is reflected from the surface and then received by the sensor antenna.
The frequency difference between the transmitted and received signal is proportional to the distance and therefore depends on the water level. The determined level value is then converted into a 4–20 mA or SDI-12 output signal. The SDI-12 version is designed for connection to data loggers with an SDI-12 interface, making the device particularly suitable for autonomous, battery-powered applications requiring low power consumption.
Thanks to its non-contact and highly reliable measurement technology, SOMLEVEL-15 is not affected by high temperatures, high humidity, flooding, floating debris or turbid water and ensures maximum data quality. Its compact and versatile design makes the device easy to install and maintenance-free.
